The scheme is called AGNIPATH and the youth selected under this scheme will be known as Agniveers. अग्निपथ योजना काय आहे (थोडक्यात)?

अग्निवीरांना लाभ:

अटी व शर्ती:
अग्निपथ योजनेंतर्गत, अग्निवीरांची चार वर्षांच्या कालावधीसाठी संबंधित सेवा कायद्यांतर्गत नोंदणी केली जाईल. सशस्त्र दलात इतर कोणत्याही विद्यमान रँकपेक्षा वेगळी अशी त्यांची रँक असेल. चार वर्षांची सेवा पूर्ण केल्यावर, संघटनात्मक आवश्यकता आणि सशस्त्र दलांनी वेळोवेळी जाहीर केलेल्या धोरणांच्या आधारे, अग्निवीरांना सशस्त्र दलात कायमस्वरूपी नावनोंदणीसाठी अर्ज करण्याची संधी दिली जाईल. या अर्जांचा त्यांच्या चार वर्षांच्या व्यस्त कालावधीतील कामगिरीसह वस्तुनिष्ठ निकषांवर आधारित केंद्रीकृत पद्धतीने विचार केला जाईल आणि अग्निवीरांच्या प्रत्येक विशिष्ट तुकडीच्या 25% पर्यंत सशस्त्र दलाच्या नियमित केडरमध्ये नोंदणी केली जाईल. तपशीलवार मार्गदर्शक तत्त्वे स्वतंत्रपणे जारी केली जातील. ही निवड करणे हे सशस्त्र दलांचे विशेष अधिकारक्षेत्र असेल.

What is Agneepath Yojana (in short)?
The Agneepath scheme is designed to enable the young profile of the armed forces. This will attract young talents from the society who are more in tune with the contemporary technology trends and give opportunity to the youth who are eager to wear uniforms to bring back the skilled, disciplined and motivated manpower in the society. As for the Armed Forces, it will enhance the young profile of the Armed Forces and provide a new lease of life with ‘Josh’ and ‘Jazba’ while at the same time bringing about a transformative transformation into a more technologically savvy Armed Forces – which it really is. The need of the hour. The implementation of this scheme is expected to reduce the average age of the Indian Armed Forces by about 4-5 years. The country will be greatly benefited by highly motivated youth who are well versed in self-discipline, diligence and focus and are able to contribute in other fields with sufficient skills. The benefits of short military service are huge for the country, the society and the youth of the country. These include patriotism, teamwork, enhancing physical fitness, strong loyalty to the country and the availability of trained personnel to enhance national security in times of external threats, internal threats and natural disasters.
This is a major defense policy reform introduced by the government to usher in a new era in the three services human resource policy. This policy, which will take effect immediately, will then regulate enrollment for three services.
Who are the firefighters?
Candidates recruited in the Armed Forces through Agneepath Yojana will be referred to as Agniveer. They will be given a unique opportunity to serve their country and contribute to nation building. The Government of India has announced the recruitment of 46,000 firefighters into the Armed Forces through the Agneepath scheme.

Benefits to firefighters:
Firefighters will be offered an attractive customized monthly package with risk and hardship allowances applicable in all three services. Upon completion of the four-year commitment period, the firefighters will be offered a one-time ‘service fund’ package in which their contribution will be equal to the interest accrued on them and the government contribution equal to the amount of their contribution which will include interest as shown below:

Terms and Conditions:
Under the Agneepath scheme, firefighters will be registered under the relevant service law for a period of four years. His rank will be different from any other existing rank in the Armed Forces. Upon completion of four years of service, firefighters will be given the opportunity to apply for permanent enlistment in the Armed Forces, subject to organizational requirements and policies announced by the Armed Forces from time to time. These applications will be considered in a centralized manner based on objective criteria, including their performance during the four-year busy period and up to 25% of each specific unit of firefighters will be registered in the regular cadre of the Armed Forces. Detailed guidelines will be issued separately. This selection will be the prerogative of the Armed Forces.
Educational Qualifications: The educational qualifications of firefighters for enrollment in various categories will be prevalent. {For example: To enter General Duty (GD) Peon, the educational qualification is Class 10).
